Gravenhurst Cottage Wedding I Grace + Iain

Grace + Iain's sentimental Gravenhurst cottage wedding is one to remember. This was a real day of connecting, having fun, and sharing so much love out in nature. The wedding took place at Grace's family cottage which means the world to both of them. It's not just a place they escape to all the time to connect with each other, but also with their friends and family. It truly was the perfect place for their wedding.

The day started off relaxed. Everyone was chilling out, having snacks, chatting with each other by the water, and playing badminton, cards, and jumping on the trampoline. Nobody was left out and even the 2 family dogs were there. Grace and Iain ended up getting ready at the same time and it felt so special because they got to have an emotional first look. They then made an appearance to all of their friends and family who were all waiting at the bottom of the cottage stairs to cheer them on.

The ceremony was unreal, right next to the water on the cottage land under a dome of trees that created the most magical light. And as soon as they were married, Grace changed into a second outfit to get more comfortable for the rest of the day and the cocktail hour ahead. And not to mention going kayaking. Yes, in the same outfit. How cool is that?

The reception was all about sentimental touches. The back deck of the cottage was dotted with thoughtful additions like the family's vintage fan in the corner and the vintage chairs. One of the most amazing details was the chandelier that featured parts of Grace's grandmother's old chandelier.

As the sun got close to the horizon, both Grace and Iain changed back into their wedding outfits for some sunset photos. Perhaps the most sentimental addition was wandering off to the little island in the lake where Grace used to sneak off to when she was younger. And here she was, wearing a white dress on her wedding day with her dream partner standing next to her. A full circle.

Before changing into more comfortable clothes again and chilling by the fire pit for the rest of the night, Grace + Ian had a spontaneous first dance that they weren't originally going to do. Instead, they went with what felt right and as they heard a song that got them inspired, they decided to do the dance after all. And what a dance it was, right under the twinkle lights.
