Gigi and Izzy's Lake Rosseau Muskoka Cottage wedding was a dream come true. The stunning family cottage property on Lake Rosseau had me drooling over all the beautiful spots surrounding us. HONESTLY, as a wedding photographer in Muskoka, I couldn’t have asked for a more magical backdrop. The couple’s first look took place at a boathouse, which was so much fun to document! There’s something about natural wedding photography in Muskoka that just hits different—the light, the water, the laughter echoing off the dock.

Right after their first look, they waved to their guests who were setting up their tents and taking a swim before having to get ready for the ceremony in a couple of hours. How cool is that! When guests can camp out on the property, I get so excited to document those relaxed moments of everyone! It’s these candid, unposed moments that make storytelling wedding photography in Ontario so rewarding. The ceremony was STUNNING, overlooking the lake with incredibly beautiful backlight behind them, while all their closest family and friends were seated on wooden benches on the hill, looking down at the ceremony like in an amphitheater. It was so emotional, and the love that Gigi and Izzy had for each other was palpable. 

Cocktail hour was a blast, with drinks flowing and guests mingling. Their first dance was so emotional, it brought tears to everyone's eyes. But the surprise came when they cut into their cake, which was a rainbow pattern inside symbolizing LGBTQ+ love. It was a beautiful representation of their love for one another and everyone's support + acceptance. The party didn't end there, the dancefloor was packed, and the guests were having the time of their lives. They ended off the reception with an upbeat dancefloor and a relaxing fire — it was the perfect ending to a perfect day. These kinds of celebrations are what make me love working with couples as a wedding photographer in Southern Ontario, especially when they let the day unfold naturally.
