Madsen’s Greenhouse Newmarket Ontario Wedding | Elle + Quade
One of the things I love most about what I do as a Toronto documentary wedding photographer is being able to work with people who inspire me, and Elle + Quade is one of those couples that inspire me more than they know. Their free-spirited wedding at Madsen’s Greenhouse in Newmarket, Ontario was so magical and grounding at the same time. Both Elle + Quade are such beautiful and amazing people who are so present and loving towards everyone they come into contact with. It’s so beautiful to witness.
On the morning of the wedding day, I witnessed the whole spectrum of emotions—everything from full-on belly laughs to getting teary-eyed. The guys were super goofy as usual and they started celebrating by popping the champagne. It wasn’t long before Quade got super emotional seeing the gift he got from Elle. Such a beautiful and connecting moment, even before seeing each other.
The girls, on the other hand, had such a grounding, peaceful, and loving morning as Elle’s twin sister had put together a little meditation ceremony complete with aromatic sage, tea, and even the soothing sounds of the guitar. It was the best way to start the day off with the most positive vibes.
Storytelling wedding photography in Ontario is all about capturing those real, unposed moments, and Jewish weddings always feel so special because they celebrate love, family, and tradition. It was so emotional when Elle came out in her wedding dress and everyone saw her for the first time. Instead of having a private first look, Elle and Quade shared theirs in front of everyone. I loved how fun and special it was—and that they got to experience that moment with all their loved ones.
Their deeply intimate wedding started with the signing of the ketubah in the presence of their closest friends and family, all wishing them well. The ceremony was all about warmth and closeness—so much love as the family stood with Elle + Quade under the chuppah.
When they finally ran off married, Elle + Quade snuck off privately to be together, just the two of them, and take it all in. I could see Quade embracing Elle so happily, and I feel so grateful for being able to document this very special moment for them. This is what intimate wedding photography is all about—capturing those quiet, heartfelt moments that mean everything.
The reception and cocktail hour couldn’t have been more fun. Traditionally, they had the Horah, and there wasn’t a single person in the room who wasn’t smiling and laughing with joy. Such a fun and energizing way to start the celebration! Throughout the reception, there were so many speeches and dancing, such loving and positive energy all throughout the night. And to keep things cool, their wedding planner snuck in the cutest and sweetest surprise. Since she knew how much Elle + Quade loved ice cream, she arranged an actual ice cream truck. I mean, how cute is that? Definitely one of the most unique weddings I've photographed in Southern Ontario—this is why I love being part of intimate wedding celebrations like this.
Elle + Quade's words after seeing their photos:
"SO AMAZED. Wow. We are so happy with these photographs. Reliving the beauty and magic of this day. Quade and I spent the evening cuddled up on the sofa (as suggested) with wine and a huge grin plastered on our faces. Thank you!"
