Port Carling Muskoka Cottage Wedding I Kim + Graham

Kim and Graham smiling at their Muskoka cottage wedding in Port Carling

Kim and Graham's Port Carling Muskoka cottage wedding was a true testament to the power of love and the ability to make the best out of any situation. The day started off with a rainy forecast, but that didn't dampen the spirits of the couple or their guests. Instead, the energy felt laid-back and relaxed, making for a truly unforgettable celebration.

Guests arrived on boats for the ceremony, which took place on the couple's family cottage on an island in Port Carling. The setting was absolutely breathtaking, with the rain adding an extra layer of beauty to the already picturesque surroundings—honestly, it was the perfect backdrop for natural wedding photography in Muskoka.

About 30 minutes before the ceremony began, Kim and her bridesmaids popped a bottle of champagne, and it was a hilarious and eventful moment that made for an amazing picture! I’m never mad about getting hit with a cork for a great shot LOL. These are the moments I live for as a documentary wedding photographer—those real, unposed wedding pictures that tell the story exactly as it happened.

Once the ceremony started, the rain began to come down harder and harder, and despite my rain jacket, I got soaked. But honestly, it was all worth it for the amazing angles and memories captured during the ceremony. If you’re dreaming of candid wedding photos in Muskoka, trust me, the weather only adds to the magic.

Tears were flowing just like the rain as the couple exchanged their vows, and the love shared between Kim and Graham was truly palpable. These are the moments that make storytelling wedding photography in Ontario so meaningful—every emotion, every laugh, every tear, captured forever.

After the ceremony, everyone boated over to a family home nearby to celebrate the rest of the night. The boathouse on the property had been transformed into a reception space, and the ambiance was truly magical. The couple decided to opt for a cocktail hour-style food, so there was no sit-down dinner, and I loved that they did it their way. The speeches were hilarious and emotional, and there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

Kim and Graham's wedding at their family cottage in Port Carling was nothing short of a dream come true, and the rainy weather only added to the magic of the day.
