The Symes wedding / Courtney + Tyler

If there is one word that captures Courtney and Tyler's wedding day at The Symes, it's closeness. From the very start of the day to Courtney and Tyler getting married, and to everyone dancing the night away, it was so wonderful to witness how close-knit they are with their family and friends, who were all such a huge part of their day.

As usual, I started by heading off to see the guys. They were hanging out at Courtney and Tyler's place. And first of all, can I just say how much I love the fact that they will be able to look back at these pictures years on from now and see what their house looked like when they got married. It was great how comfortable the guys felt around me, doing what they normally would if they were hanging out any other day. They went out to play Frisbee on the streets while drinking some beers and went down to the basement to play some video games, which felt so true and natural to them.

When I went to see the girls, they were having so much fun, listening to a ton of music, singing, dancing an d rehearsing their entrance to the reception. And finally, when Courtney put on her wedding dress, it was absolutely beautiful to see how surprised and happy her dad was to see her dressed up. Being able to document moments like this, that are full of rich and pure emotions always feels extra special.

When it was time for the first look at Toronto's High Park, I asked Courtney and Tyler if they wanted to have it alone or with their friends and family there, too. And because everyone is so close to each other, they were happy to have everyone there watching from the sidelines. As soon as Courtney and Tyler saw each other, they ran over to celebrate, and I loved seeing that moment as they were surrounded by so much love. It was literally a party in the park as everyone was popping and drinking champagne, and celebrating.

The ceremony, as well as the cocktail hour and the reception, were all so emotional and super happy, with so many laughs and togetherness. Laughter, closeness, and just pure joy feels true to who Courtney and Tyler are as people and you could really feel that coming from the speeches.

And oh my gosh, you guys, the party was CRAZY. Nobody waited to go to the bar and start doing tequila shots and dancing up a storm. It was so much fun to watch everyone get to the dance floor right off the bat, not waiting for a second to dance the night away.
