La Haut Plantation St.Lucia Wedding | Sherry + Mike

Sherry + Mike got married in the beautiful La Haut Plantation, St.Lucia, and it was such a magical destination wedding. I was already very excited when I was driving to see them as I got to drive on the left side of the road which was so much fun for me since I LOVE driving in different places around the world, but the excitement got to a whole new level once I arrived at their gorgeous wedding location at the La Haut Plantation.

It was a really hot day, but it was all worth it. The ceremony took place in the most unbelievable location with the majestic Pitons and the ocean as the backdrop. Sherry + Mike had an intimate ceremony with a close-knit group of family and friends, which felt very special to witness. The mountains in the background made the whole experience even more awe-inspiring. As a destination wedding photographer, I’m always in awe of how these unique locations create such powerful stories.

After the ceremony, everyone went on a catamaran cruise to sail from the location of the ceremony to the reception. Since the cruise was a little under 2 hours, it was not only super exciting for everyone to enjoy the lush landscape, but it also gave everyone such a lovely chance to connect and just be together. We pulled in during sunset, and it was SO magical! These are the moments I live for as a documentary wedding photographer—the candid connections, the laughter, the way the light hits the water just right.

The reception was on the beach with the calming sound of the waves in the background and the starlit sky above. The lanterns lit up the place beautifully, creating such a warm ambiance. The night was filled not only with heartwarming speeches and connecting - there was even a fire-breathing performance that Sherry + Mike got to participate in. It was epic.

The atmosphere was so romantic as Sherry + Mike shared their first dance. As soon as the partying started, there was no holding back, and everyone was super free-spirited and not afraid to show their goofy side off. I loved the playful vibe of the night and photographing everyone dancing under the stars.
