Top 20 Airbnb Wedding Venues in Ontario
A lot of the couples I speak to say the same thing: they want their wedding to feel like them—a true reflection of their aesthetic and vibe, not what the internet says a wedding "should" look like. And honestly? I feel that deep in my bones.
As a documentary wedding photographer for free-spirited + adventurous couples, I totally get it. You want something intimate, intentional, and real. While a big ballroom wedding has its place, there’s just something extra magical about exchanging vows at a cozy lakeside cottage, a historic stonehouse with castle vibes, or a tucked-away modern estate in the woods.
Airbnbs offer exactly that and so much more! They provide privacy, flexibility, and a unique backdrop for your ceremony all in one space. Luckily, you don’t have to fly across the world for those. Ontario is full of Airbnb wedding venues that offer that dreamy, one-of-a-kind vibe most couples are looking for.
So if you’ve been venue hunting lately, I’ve rounded up 20 dreamy Airbnbs in Ontario that might just be the perfect setting for your big day.
Keep Quiet Hours in Mind When Planning Your Airbnb Wedding
Oh, and one quick key tip before we dive in: quiet hours are a thing for most Airbnbs (usually 10 or 11 pm), so consider starting your ceremony earlier—like 3 pm—with dinner around 4:30. That way, you can soak in golden hour, dance under the stars, and shift the party indoors once it’s time to quiet down. It’s all about the flow, baby! ✨

FAQs
Who are the best documentary wedding photographers in Toronto?
Toronto has an incredibly talented photography community. Cafa Liu’s work really stands out with his powerful storytelling and artistic flair. If you’re searching for someone who values authentic, documentary-style photography, you might also come across my work at Sara Monika Photography, where I focus on capturing raw emotion and honest moments in a relaxed, unobtrusive way for free-spirited + adventurous couples.
Where can I find top wedding photographers in Ontario?
If you’re just starting your search, platforms like WeddingWire and Fearless Photographers are great places to explore. They feature top-rated photographers from across Ontario with a wide range of styles, so you can find someone who really aligns with your vision.
How much do wedding photographers in Toronto charge?
Pricing varies depending on the photographer’s experience level, and the kind of coverage/experience you're looking for. On average, couples in Toronto typically spend between $3,000 to $5,000 CAD on wedding photography, while those looking for a more custom + intentional experience spend between $6000 - $12,000 plus. I always recommend reaching out directly to the photographers you resonate with to learn more about what’s included in a photographer’s packages and to see if you guys are a good fit!
I’ve found that my couples never regret investing in a deeply personalized, emotion-centered experience that lets them be fully present while I take care of capturing the magic. I totally get that budget is part of the equation, and I just encourage you to think of it as not just paying for photos—but for peace of mind, presence, and a story you’ll relive forever.
What makes a good documentary wedding photographer?
A great documentary photographer is someone who knows how to blend into the day seamlessly while still being fully present to capture once in a lifetime unpredictable moments between people on wedding days. They don’t orchestrate or interfere with the naturally unfolding story of the day. They observe and capture what’s real, but still in a skilled and beautiful way. It’s about preserving the in-between moments and capturing genuine candid moments, focusing on natural storytelling and emotion.
When should I book a wedding photographer in Ontario?
Ontario has so many dreamy location options that can get booked up quickly, which means wedding photographers can get booked up quickly as well, especially during peak seasons (May - October), so I always recommend booking 9 to 12 months in advance. That way, you lock in your date early with the wedding photographer you feel 100% confident about rather than settling for someone that seems “just ok”.
What I’ll gently offer is this: photography (and video, if you go that route) is one of the very few things from your wedding that will actually last a lifetime. When all is said and done, the cake is eaten, the music fades, the flowers dry—but your photos will bring you back to the way you felt in those once-in-a-lifetime moments. And the truth is… those moments can’t be restaged or recaptured. That’s why it’s key you lock in your dream wedding photographer as soon as your date and location have been locked in!
Why choose a documentary-style wedding photographer in Toronto?
Posed shots can look and feel forced and unnatural at times. You want your big day to be captured in its full authenticity. With a documentary-style wedding photographer, you can be yourself and feel comfortable on your special day, and your photographer (aka me!) will take care of capturing the raw, intimate, and emotional moments between you, your partner and your loved ones as naturally as possible, so that you can be present to enjoy your day rather than it feeling like a photoshoot. Because ain’t nobody got time for that on a day that is experienced ONCE.
Which wedding photographers specialize in Southern Ontario venues?
There are some amazing photographers who know Southern Ontario inside and out. For example, Chelsea Green! I’ve had the chance to photograph at a variety of different venues in the Southern Ontario region. Here’s some of my work if you’d like to take a peek.
What's included in Toronto wedding photography packages?
Toronto wedding photography packages often include a set number of coverage hours, edited high-resolution images, an online gallery, and sometimes engagement sessions or albums. But every photographer is different since they are their own unique artist and approach photographing wedding days differently.
Be sure to check with the photographer you’re interested to see what unique options they offer, and feel free to ask questions any questions that come up for you! Remember, if they are offering something different than “industry norm” this most likely means that they have self-actualized as an artist and can offer you a more custom experience that will be hard to find elsewhere. This is a good thing! :)
